First Steps:

Do these first (before taking other actions):

Warriors:

Warriors are the heart of the BattleDrome Ecosystem.

Warriors can be trained, to grow their abilities, you can customize how to spend their enhancement points to gain strength, dexterity, or constitution, or even increase their natural luck! When ready to fight, they can travel out, and roam the BattleDrome world, moving from arena to arena. Dueling other Warriors, or entering into larger events involving many warriors at once!

Warriors actually hold their own FAME balances. When you pay 100 FAME to create a warrior, that does not go to any central "house", instead of becomes the balance of that warrior. When warriors battle one another, if they defeat their opponent, they gain half of the defeated warrior's FAME! But this means they are risking their own FAME as well. A warrior can never lose ALL of their fame, only half of their current holdings. In this way warriors that win more often, will gain FAME rapidly. It's your job as their owner to ensure they are well prepared for battle, to have the best chance of winning!

Each time a warrior gains some FAME via any means, a small tax (1%) is paid to their owner, allowing you to earn an income of your own FAME for your Warrior's exploits. But the only way to gain the full value of the FAME back from a warrior is to "retire" them, meaning they can no longer participate in any way. But a retired warrior will still remain on the chain as an NFT, to keep a record of their glory, while their current owner will receive 100% of the FAME they hold.

Currently because the remaining supporting contracts are not yet deployed, warriors may be created, and traded, but interactions are not yet possible (including retiring). This will however change in the next coming releases

Currently you may name your warriors with a short unique name of no more than 30 characters in length. However you should note, names are GLOBALLY unique, once a name is taken, it is permenantly taken. First come, first served. And once a name is set, it may NEVER be changed for that warrior, so think wisely before naming them.

Please be considerate when naming, and refrain from using offensive names. Administrative capabilities have been reserved for the BattleDrome Senate in order to correct offensive names if reported.

Regions:

Regions make up the world of the BattleDrome Ecosystem.

Regions are a form of virtual real-estate, where ownership of your land is controlled via a special ERC1155 Non Fungible Token.

As Regions are created, the world of BattleDrome grows. Each new region connects to others, and this forms a network of virtual "roads" across which Warriors may travel

Warriors within a region can challenge others in the same region to a duel, and potentially win fame and profit by doing so! But this also brings benefits to the owner of the region, as they set the rules in which the combat may take place, and they stand to take a tax from any FAME that changes hands!

By controlling the rules/laws within a region, it's owner hopes to attract more and more warriors. Regions even have a purse, which can add to any prizes/winnings a warrior may make. This makes wealthy regions very attractive to warriors as they can potentially earn more.

Well connected regions are also of high value, as moving around the world requires gas, so a well connected region will be easy to reach and move quickly between nearby regions

The way the region minting algorithms work, there will be a bit of a trade off between early regions created first, which will cost the least, and may start with few connections, but because they are first, they will have the highest chances of getting more connections, ultimately ending up with the most in the long run. And the later regions, which will cost more, and have relatively fewer connections, meaning they are likely to be "further away" from the central hub region where all Warriors begin. However these regions will ultimately be much more wealthy because of the higher fee paid to create them, meaning they have much to offer warriors willing to make the trip.

Each time a Region collects some tax/income, a small portion of that is redirected to the region owner, which provides a steady income stream to the owner.

Currently because the remaining supporting contracts are not yet deployed, regions may be created, and traded, but most interactions are not yet possible unless you want to interact directly with the contracts on the chain. This will however change in the next coming releases

Currently you may name your regions with a short unique name of no more than 30 characters in length. However you should note, names are GLOBALLY unique, once a name is taken, it is permenantly taken. First come, first served. And once a name is set, it may NEVER be changed for that region, so think wisely before naming them.

In addition, regions may have a short Description. The longer the text, the higher the gas fee required to set it. This can be changed at any time by the owner. Also a Link URL is available, to link to a website of your choice. This again is controlled by the owner and can be set at any time. Using tinyURL or .eth names is recommended.

Please be considerate when naming, or adding any text. And please refrain from using offensive names. Administrative capabilities have been reserved for the BattleDrome Senate in order to correct offensive names if reported.

A few notes on buying/selling Regions:

  1. There is a fairly complex system in place to keep the market supply/demand for virtual real-estate under control. This means the prices to create a new region directly with the RegionCollectible Contract (via this website) will fluctuate based on market demand.
  2. The contract allows direct re-sale of an existing Region, and to buy one that's "up for sale". This provides an exit to anyone who's bought a region, but needs to get some cash back. Note this will likely not be full "market value" but provides a "floor price" at any time to have an easy exit.
  3. While the ability to sell off your regions back to the contract, or buy a "used" region from the contract is coded into the contracts now, and works, the web UI for these features is not yet done, and is coming in a future release. So currently this is not possible via this page, unless you wish to interact directly with the contracts to do so (for example via the contract interface on etherscan.io)
  4. Be mindful of gas prices when creating Regions, they are large, complex NFTs, which will have a reasonably hefty gas cost. Choosing good timing on the Ethereum Network can save you a significant amount in fees.
  5. While the button below will provide an ESTIMATE of the cost of creating a region, the actual cost will ultimately depend on your timing. For example, an estimate of 500FAME may be shown when you click the button below, but if someone else beats you to that purchase, your fee might end up being higher.
  6. The contracts are designed to ensure not too many regions exist. There is ultimately limited real-estate in the BattleDrome universe, and as more and more is grabbed up, the prices will increase exponentially.
  7. Owning your own region is considered a major investment, and is much more involved than simply owning a warrior. Keep this in mind. It is certainly not intended for every player to potentially own their own Region.
  8. You will always have a (reasonably low) chance of winning a free region of your own in the upcoming Loot Chests Release.

Ok, if you've read and understand the above, please go ahead and create your first region by following the steps below!
